Portrait Assignment, modelled by Zoe Cookson-Montin
This book is a combination of hand written quotes taken from my Grandfather’s video testimony on his Holocaust survival story.
The photos are visually based on the Polish film Ida, by Pawel Pawlikowski, and taken by my good friend Daniela Volovik, directed, edited and modeled by myself.
This book was handmade, and was scanned for digital viewing purposes.

This book was created with the intent to document individuals who represent a certain image: “Metalheads” who wear leather. The intent was to present another side, a more personal and intimate one, through the juxtaposition of a portrait, a personal object and quote describing the sentiment of it to them.
